Dennis Santamaria is currently the Head of Airworthiness at EURO-COMPOSITES, Luxembourg. Prior to joining EURO-COMPOSITES, Dennis has had 50 years of aviation management experience working in different companies, including British Airways (UK), Gulf Air (Bahrain), Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company-GAMCO (later Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies-ADAT), and FL Technics (Lithuania) with a short spell at Etihad Airways to start their operations.
Dennis has therefore built up vast experience in aircraft engineering and design and many of his projects have been on Cabin Interiors, from modification and refurbishment/upgrades of existing aircraft to managing a Cabin design for new delivered aircraft.
Dennis will explain that the use of weight saving composite materials is not just restricted to new built aircraft cabin components. It is possible to replace existing metal items with composite alternatives cost effectively and efficiently, gaining valuable weight savings that translate into reduced fuel costs for operators. The new item can also improve the cabin appearance.
